Redefining Stability, Range and Upwind Performance
The Flow D-Wing V2 represents a major evolution of our original D-Wing concept, bringing significant advancements in stability, control, usable range and most notably, upwind performance.
At the heart of the D-Wing V2 is our reflex airfoil design, delivering great stability and allowing the wing to be fully depowered without the risk of collapses. This enables the D-Wing V2 to point high upwind across an wide range of conditions. From underpowered, marginal foiling sessions to fully overpowered riding in gusty winds flying on the “A” lines only.
Riders can confidently sail upwind with a stable, clean canopy, maintaining control and efficiency even when significantly overpowered. The result is safer handling, easier stow and relaunch and consistently strong upwind angles.
Bigger Range. More Stability.
With the V2, we pushed the concept much further. The wing is noticeably more stable and offers a smuch wider usable range, with a refined top end and a great low end for early “up-on-foil” takeoffs. Control in overpowered conditions has been greatly improved, making the D-Wing V2 easier to manage, jibe and turn while still maintaining upwind efficiency.
When tacking upwind, the wing can be completely depowered and flown using only the front lines, effectively shedding excess power while still holding a strong upwind line. This defining characteristic sits at the core of the D-Wing V2’s design philosophy.
Improved Handling and Playfulness
One of the most noticeable improvements of the D-Wing V2 is how intuitive and playful it feels. Turning and jibing are smoother and more predictable, with riders consistently reporting fewer falls compared to the V1. The result is longer sessions, increased confidence and faster progression.
New Bar Design
The D-Wing V2 introduces a cleaner, more refined full-carbon bar. A key update is the floating B-attachment point, allowing the back hand to move freely along the bar. This significantly improves ergonomics, comfort and overall control, especially when riding powered or pushing upwind angles.
Faster, Cleaner Stow and Relaunch
Stowability has been significantly improved with shorter, approximately arm-length lines, making it easier to manage the canopy and run hands through the lines quickly and cleanly.
Split A-lines clearly identify the front lines, further simplifying stow and redeploy procedures. The entire system – canopy, lines and bar – remains fully colour-coded, reducing tangles and making relaunches faster and more reliable.
Smaller Pack Volume. Premium Materials.
Despite using a durable 32-gram fabric, the D-Wing V2 packs down significantly smaller thanks to a new premium ripstop material that maintains durability while greatly improving packability.
In true Flow fashion, only top-tier materials are used throughout – from the canopy fabric to the carbon bar components and high-quality line choices – delivering an ideal balance of durability, weight and real-world performance.
The Next Step in Parawing Evolution
The Flow D-Wing V2 is more than a refinement – it’s a clear step forward. With outstanding upwind ability in both underpowered and overpowered conditions, increased stability, a wider usable range and more playful handling, the D-Wing V2 sets a new benchmark for modern parawing design.
